In 2013, my wife was expecting twins following 5 years of fertility treatment and failed attempts at trying to start a family. The pregnancy was all good however at 35 week scan, we found out one of our twins’ heart had stopped. Our surviving twin was safely delivered the next day together with our sleeping angel. Nyla is the reason that I found this charity. For the following 18 months, I stayed strong for my wife and tried to just carry on with life as normal but I fell into deep bouts of depression as I was bottling things up. In June 2015, I read a comment from Paul Scully-Sloan on a blog about grieving fathers on father’s day and that directed me to Daddy's with Angels. Over the last 5 years, I have found the support I needed and have been able to deal with my “new normal”. I have then joined the admin team and have done what I can to help to support our members to understand that talking about their grief is a first step on this journey.

I work for the local authority within Children’s Early Help Services. In my other spare time, I am Chair of Governors for my daughter’s primary school and I am a trustee and treasurer for a charity that runs a Community Centre near where I live. To relax, I watch most sports and also complete logic/mathematical puzzles. I live in Peterborough with my wife, Natalie and my 2 daughters Malaika and Nalani. I have completed level 3 counselling qualification and part completed a foundation degree in counselling. I have a non-judgemental empathetic style which has helped me to be able to support members who need a listening ear to help them to work through what they are going through.
